The Gap is a suburb of large, leafy blocks backing onto bushland, with plenty of split-level homes from the 1960s and 70s and outdoor areas built to make the most of the hills. That means decks, pergolas, retaining walls and paths, and the maintenance that comes with living next to the bush.
I come over from Ferny Hills via Settlement Road, so The Gap is well inside my regular run. I quote for free, work solo and take on the jobs that are too small for a builder but need doing properly.

Shaded, bush-facing walls and bathrooms get mould. I find the cause, strip and treat the lining and reinstate it properly.

The suburb grew through the 1960s and 70s with brick and timber split-level homes on large sloping blocks, many with elevated timber decks and carports. Blocks close to Enoggera Reservoir and the bushland edge are shaded and damp, which drives a lot of the maintenance work: gutters, mould, rot in exposed timber and paths that turn green every wet season.
Working on the hill
Elevated decks and steep yards need the right approach to access and safety. I've done plenty of hillside work across the north-west and price each job on its own terrain rather than a flat rate.
